Shame
03:32
|
|||
waste your breath, waste my time
that one's yours, but this one's mine
try not to get the two confused
(i know that's hard for you)
line up the pieces, play youre game
how cute, they all look jsut the same
but when it's done, and playtime's through
there's no one here for you
miniature queen of a miniature castle
head in the clouds and your thumb up your asshole
you're tired, irrelevant, willfully ignorant
certain to shuffle the blame
delinquent to honour your duty and that is your shame
try my patience one last time
then push it well across the line
such sacrifice and discontent
you just play innocent
with utter disregard you called the play
a price that wasn't your to pay
you'd lost as you'd begun
may you rot here for all that you've done

Disarm
05:18
|
|||
backing down, i find myself with one last place to run
i meant the words i said, i just don't mean what they've become
i don't mean you harm
but I won't be disarmed
true enough, i opened up, and gave myself to you
shedding skin grows dull again, what was but isn't true
nevermind confusion, i can see with both my eyes
i'll say what must be said, but i can't promise you no lies
i'm sorry, dear, it's just the way i feel and nothing more
don't think that i'm deserting 'cause i'm walking out the door
i'll want you there to lean on even though i broke your heart
it's easy if i blind myself to where your feelings start
no more lies
just one more try
i don't know what i need
i'm doing fine
you had your time
i hate it when you bleed
(on me)

Malice
04:55
|
|||
one step forward, all fall down
it's just a drier way to drown
blind eye turning, run aground
the walls are too thin in this town
i know there's more in life
formulate an alibi and make a wish on every lie
the grass is never green enough
for every dream you tried to snuff
it's not a case of win or lose
it's heart and soul, it's time to choose
be truth or falsehood, life or death
begone unless you've come to set it right
k-mart poets, lost and found
too high on themselves to break ground
line them up to knock them down
you should be trying to turn it around

One Sixty
06:28

when i'm in, it's something beautiful
but even then, the tendency to bleed
when i'm out, it just gets clearer
that i can't win, and you will not concede
lying awake all night beside you
so when you go, at least i'll hear you leave
i know that there's truth in what you're speaking,
but three small words that i cannot believe
and there you stand, so firm and so secure
you're holding hearts like prisoners of war
and if this is what it means to finally see
then I've decided I don't want to be
in the middle anymore
by the time my heart stops beating
it really doesn't matter what you say
can anybody hear me?
i measure pain in decibels today
really, there's no shame in losing
unless you didn't know the game was played
it isn't a sudden burst of conscience
it's knowing there must be a better way
when i'm in, it's something beautiful
but even then, it's plain enough to see
when i'm out, it just gets clearer
you're beautiful, but you're no good for me
